Vocations Committee Ministry

St. Anthony Cathedral Vocations Committee exists in liaison with the Beaumont, Texas and International Sierra Clubs, for the purpose of establishing programs in the Parish community to promote Catholic Vocations to the priesthood and other religious vocations. Parish activities are established to promote frequent prayer by all parishioners to sustain current Priests, Sisters, Brothers and Deacons, and to encourage candidates and their families to "hear the call" in service to Christ's Church.

Activities include daily prayer after Mass and through the "31 Club". Altar Server events and other programs for Religious Vocations are influenced by the support of the Vocations Committee members. All parishioners are encouraged to become a member of this Ministry through active participation or inactive membership, in union as they offer daily prayers for Vocations.

Vocational Traveling Chalice

God calls each of us to a particular state in life, a Vocation, within which to live out his commands. Whether our vocation is to be single, married, religious or ordained, God gives us the grace to gain eternal life through that state of life. One way to help implement God's plan in your family is to request the Traveling Chalice and to say vocational prayers daily - for yourself, your family, friends, and your parish. The Traveling Chalice will be given to you at the end of Mass. You will take it home for a week. Sometime during each day, prayers should be said for vocation awareness. A Vocation Ministry Volunteer will provide you with complete instructions.

When prayers for vocations are prayed with the blessed Traveling Chalice, you and your family will increase your awareness of the needs for vocations. You can utilize this opportunity to pray for vocations, by simply requesting to receive the Traveling Chalice at the Mass you normally attend. All members of St. Anthony Parish are invited to participate.

Daily the students of Saint Anthony Cathedral School participate in this important ministry through a special prayer for vocations. Each week one home room cares for a special Traveling Chalice that has been provided by the Cathedral parish for Saint Anthony Cathedral School.

Print the Traveling Chalice Program Form and place your completed form in the collection basket, or mail it to the Cathedral at the following address:
