Catholic Formation / Education

St. Anthony Cathedral Catholic Formation/Education joins parents and families in a partnership by offering students in grades Pre-K through 5th Grade formal religious educational instruction to strengthen the Catholic faith formation that parents and families daily provide for children. Our Catholic Formation/Education is designed to help each student learn, integrate and daily live the Catholic faith. St. Anthony Cathedral's formal Catholic Formation/Education is intended to supplement what is taught by parents and families at home.

Sacramental Preparation

St. Anthony Cathedral joins parents and families in a partnership which provides Family Centered Sacramental preparations to parochial and non-parochial school students planning on receiving a sacrament during the academic year (First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist).

In this partnership, the parish intends to serve families by providing regular Sunday morning sacramental educational gatherings for families, strengthening family participation in the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist, providing home materials for one-to-one sessions with the child(ren) being prepared for a sacrament along with other activities and suggestions which involve the entire family in sacramental preparation and celebration.

	Gather the Children and Little Church
	Gather the Children and Little Church provides parents and families with a child-centered Liturgy of the Word during Sunday celebration of Eucharist at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Anthony Cathedral. This ministry centers on children having their own experience of God's Biblical Word through a professional pedagogical process that is sensitive to child learning patterns. Little Church is offered on the first, second, and fourth Sundays of the month for children in Pre-K and Kindergarten. Gather the Children is offered every third Sunday of the month for children in Kindergarten through Third Grade.

	Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and Teens
	St. Anthony Cathedral joins with parents and families of school age children and teens who are Non-Catholic, who wish to learn more about the Catholic Church without any commitment to become Catholic, as well as those who wish to become Catholic. The Rite of Christian Initiation is intended for unbaptized children and youth (Third Grade through High School), and children and youth baptized in other Christian faith who have not participated in catechetical training nor celebrated the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

Special Events throughout the year...

Jesus Day is our parish eucharistic preparation day for students preparing for First Holy Communion. It is a day filled with excitement, prayer, song, sharing and involvement for both children and their parents.
Our Easter Egg Hunt is held each year on Holy Saturday at 12:00 Noon in St. Anthony Cathedral Courtyard. Father begins by blessing families Easter food and Easter baskets then all children ages 10 and under are invited to join our Easter Bunny on a fun adventure of hunting for Easter eggs.
Vacation Bible Camp is a fun filled week packed with action and adventure with great games, songs, bible skits and stories, creative crafts and yummy foods. Vacation Bible Camp continues to be one of the greatest evangelistic outreaches of the church and is held in this parish each year in June.
